Did Lincoln Sabs Steal a Hound? The Evidence Mounts

On Saturday 22 November, as the master of the Burton Hunt counted in his hounds after a solid day’s trail hunting, he was alarmed to come up one dog short.
Wayward, an ironic name for such a loyal and experienced hound, had not returned to the fold.

The huntsman paced the tracks and footpaths around Cold Hanworth in Lincolnshire late into the evening, blowing his horn to bring the dog home. But it was nowhere to be seen.
When hounds very occasionally do run off, they are usually spotted by farmers, gamekeepers or on local Facebook groups. More often than not, they stay in the local area or make their own way back to the meet. But since Saturday afternoon there has been no trace of Wayward.
Suspicions are now growing that the hound was stolen by members of the Lincoln Hunt Sabs.
So, who was it?

Local intelligence points to Maze Faye, a supporter of the Hunt Saboteurs Association and Protect the Wild, who has been bragging on Facebook that the hound was "was rescued" and "taken from this abuser".
Faye is a self-professed animal-loving vegan who obviously doesn’t understand the stress an animal goes through when ripped from its pack; separating them causes significant distress and anxiety. But for sabs, animal welfare only matters when it fits the narrative.
Faye, who identifies as pansexual and non-binary, is married to Oliver George. The couple were wed in March 2024. Faye has shared several memes about borderline personality disorder (BPD) and bipolar disorder to her Facebook page, suggesting a mental illness.

The evidence is mounting.
A Lincolnshire local reported seeing a Facebook post from the saboteurs showing a photo of a hound in their van. Conveniently, the photo was then deleted. How very transparent.

The Lincoln Hunt Sabs are unsurprisingly denying the claims that one of their members has been caught stealing a hound. It's a familiar pattern of behaviour from a group that seems more interested in propaganda than actual animal welfare. This is the same group that, back in October, was forced to issue a retraction after wrongfully claiming that a local huntsman had “executed” his own hound.
The shocking accusation was plastered across their Facebook page on 31 October 2024, implying that Neil Burton had executed his own hounds and fed them to the rest of the pack. It's the sort of grotesque misinformation designed to go viral and bring followers to their cause.

This isn't the first time sabs have been caught "rescuing" animals into worse conditions than they allegedly found them. In April, Louise Murguia from the North Dorset Sabs, a self-proclaimed "anti-farmer vegan anarchist", stole a lamb from a field in Sturminster Newton, Dorset. She dressed it in a nappy and attempted to raise it in her bedroom like a baby.

When police finally found the lamb, it was malnourished, half the weight it should've been, and in desperate need of veterinary care. This wasn't rescue, it was neglect dressed up as activism. The lamb had been taken from a farmer who knew how to care for it and placed in the hands of someone whose ideology trumped basic animal welfare.

Gemma Barnes, based in Norwich, has also blurred the line between compassion and crime. On 11 April 2023, Barnes proudly posted pictures of herself with "liberated" lambs, which prosecutors claimed were actually stolen. She refused to say where they came from or where they ended up. The court was told that taking the lambs from their mothers would have caused severe distress – the very thing these activists claim to be fighting against.

If you see Wayward, please get in touch so he can be returned to his pack and home. A frightened, experienced hound - torn from everything familiar, separated from his pack family. All in the name of "rescue".
