Careful sabs, your racism is showing

If there’s one thing sabs love more than terrorising the countryside and beating up young girls, it’s trying to claim the moral high ground.
Nothing gets sabs hotter under the collar than evangelising about veganism, Palestine, and whatever other strand of woke tosh is trending on Instagram that week.
So it was an awkward moment for the Welsh Border Wildlife Protectors when they appeared to be utterly confused about the idea of a black person in the countryside.
On Thursday the sab group published a post to Facebook about the previous day spent badgering the Wynnstay Hunt in Herefordshire, alongside the Cheshire Monitors.
One of the photos in the post showed a young black woman on horseback with the caption "Erm…"
Clearly the idea of a black person supporting hunting is utterly incomprehensible to the “Wildlife Protectors”. Aren’t all minorities supposed to eat tofu and read the Guardian and take a knee in the Morrisons carpark?

As if this patronising and racially insensitive post wasn’t bad enough, the comments were even more vile.
In a since deleted comment, a supporter called Jan Smith wrote “that’s the first time I’ve seen a black person fox hunting”.

Another supporter, Luna Lily replied, “interesting decision on her part supporting this kind of social scene side by side with these kinds of men….”
What’s so interesting about it Luna? Are black people not supposed to be mixing in this “social scene”?
The most insensitive comment, which has since been deleted, belonged to Jane Murphy Wood:
“She must think she’s climbing the ladder. Infact [sic] dragging to the gutter with the perverts This is laying a trail.?????? Must be demented,” Wood wrote.

Goodness. How dare a black person enjoy country sports without it being some kind of social mountaineering?
These comments, and the initial post, smack of ignorance and border on outright racism. It betrays a pathetically small-minded worldview, where all minorities are automatically assumed to be on the urban left and couldn’t possibly take part in countryside traditions.
Those of us in the hunting community know that it is actually an incredibly welcoming and inclusive network, where people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy exercise, fresh air, and company in an increasingly isolated and online world.
These comments once again prove that sabs lack any kind of imagination, and can’t help but reduce people down to caricatures. It's a small mercy that they've since been deleted. But don't worry, we always keep the receipts.
