Sonia Fradgley-Thompson is the self-styled “AR Activist, Punk, Witch, Anti Everything, Pagan” leader of the Geordie Hunt Sabs, a group known for her disruptive activities to hunts across the North East.

Fradgley-Thompson has been a big personality in the sab scene for years. According to a source, whilst out sabbing Fradgley-Thompson will “often block roads and calls members of the hunt some awful names.” She started Geordie Hunt Sabs with her girlfriend Louise, a fellow sab from North East Hunt Monitors. Sources tell us that “she has a drone and often flies it over private property”.

Before that, Fradgley-Thompson was with Northumberland Hunt Watch, but a fallout with its infamous leader, Lynne Graham, meant she went off to start her own operation. Perhaps her punk inclinations put her at loggerheads with Graham, who ran as the BNP candidate in local government elections in 2010 and 2011.

When she’s not out in the field, Fradgley-Thompson runs ‘Punk for the Foxes’ - a gig night dedicated to raising funds for hunt sabs. Until recently, she even had her own PayPal account on the Geordie Hunt Sabs Facebook page, leading us to question what exactly the funds were being used for.

Fradgley-Thompson clearly loves foxes so much she likes to paint herself as one. Here at BTM, we’re not sure it’s a very convincing disguise.
